Yes I got my second red 200mW from O-Like today and put the $10.00 lens in it from Larry and gained a much nicer beam and laser dot. Also I am sure the mW output is better too, up to 10%. I am sure I am getting around 215mW right now, educated guess. Either way the lens definately makes the laser much cleaner and nicer with excellent divergence. Heck the new lens will focus to a point and smoke black leather from 15ft away....awesome!

Thanks Larry...

Todd;

I'm glad you liked the performance of the lower-cost glass lens assembly.

15 feet for burning leather is awesome.

There is about 10% more power available with the Hi-Power lens assembly,
but the cost is more also.

Thanks for the review.

Oh? I thought the high power was for the blue lasers 473nm? I placed an order for the 10.00 lens since I got a second red 200mW, I may consider the high power one soon.

I don't think it was for 473nm lasers, which are blue. Probably 405nm lasers which are violet.

Yeah something like that....blue area of the spectrum. 405 sounds about right.

The Hi-power Lens that larry is selling is Ar coated for 400-650nm. So it will perform well with blu-ray, green, and red diodes. The glass lens you purchased for $10 is coated only for red and doesn't give as much performance as the Hi-Power Assembly but it is better than acrylic.

I bought the new style red 200mW. i did not see anything posted about green other than the high power lens assembly for the blue & red lasers. It will work well on the green as well but you may be limited on the different styles that will take the lenses. Anyway, with this new lens, and the 3.6V batteries, you alrey have the complete upgrade set, I wouldn't try to get more power from it xD

Humm which of the lenses on this site is it http://laserpointerforums.com/laser_pointer_forums_3/forum/showthread.php?t=22493 ? And how did you install it, did you have an instruction or something? I am a total noob on this and don't wanna break something!

When or if you get one of these lens assemblies you just unscrew the one that comes with the laser ans thread the new one in. can't mess that up. When you order the lens, just tell Larry in you email if you are buying the $10.00 lens or the $54.00 lens. That way he can send you the correct one.

The $10 lens increases the power 8-9%. (I don't have this lens in the BST thread)
The $54.95 lens increases the power twice as much...
and gives you a tighter beam.
