I swear if the grocery store pisses me off again I'm gonna dump them in the bulk nuts bin. See how that helps their customer satisfaction ratings.

My family has a big bowl of mixed nuts in the shells out every year during the "festive" season. I had 3 of those that I mixed in with the rest when I was there.
Now, in my family, there is a strange fact that the more uptight and prudish types also happen to be the ones who prefer that type of nut. They are known to sit over the huge bowl and pick out just the ones they like despite the house rule of "you get what you get".:tsk:
As it turns out, I wasn't in attendance on the night that the first of my little additions was discovered but from the reaction of my Dad the next time I was there (trying his hardest to be angry but his smile kept breaking through while my Mom hollered in the background) I would guess that the experience was VERY INTERESTING. (Come to think of it, that "Aunt" has never been back...must be embarassed or something... )

As far as using those pointers with a homemade power supply of some sort, there are other threads here concerning the suitability of simply trying to use a transformer or other method of power for them. You might want to look them up first or you might find that you are burning out them as fast as you turn them on...like I did !

But have fun anyways.

Wire them all up to one power source and then hot glue them together into a ball and mount it on your ceiling attached to a motor. Sort of like a high tech discoball. With a fog machine they would probably look pretty cool.

Shine 100 of them on the same spot and light a match, then pop a balloon, then burn some electrical tape and then you can be bored with lasers and sell them off :D

Wasn't there a special edition "Zelda" N64 with a golden controller? Sorry, just popped in my head.;)

You could buy a bunch of small servos at DX (sku 20023 or 20087), attach the pointers to them, an Arduino or some other controller, and some kind of a sensor (motion?) to start the havoc. Could make for some nice unexpected multi dot/beam show.

Sounds like a cat torture device.

DUDE!!!!! This post was from 2011. CHECK the last post date before randomly adding nothing. Only reason for posting in a year + older thread is if you have something useful to add, not just to post
