Burning effect: It can burn black matches and black plastic balloons.
1 x Powerful 808nm Focusable IR Infrared Laser Pointer
My question:
Can it burn a paper?
Do it Necessary to use goggles with this laser?
thanks ahead!

Don't post two threads

That's not enough information to tell us anything, other than the fact it is 808nm and you will not be able to see it, making it extremely dangerous at any power.

You will see the dot, 808nm is "near infrared" and most people can see it. The beam will probably not be visible at all but if it can burn matches it can sure burn your retina, so yes safety glasses are advised.

I can see a red dot when one of my unfiltered green pens is low on batteries and starts lasing more IR than green.

808nm is especially dangerous because it looks like a dim red laser. Imagine the following scenario.

[Untrained person picks up laser, points it at wall, sees dim red dot]
"Dude there is something wrong with your laser."
[Looks directly into laser]
"Ahh! I'm blind!"

Or even worse they turn the lights off to try see the beam with the Same scenario in mind, and hello ! Me Blind Long Time
