how to assemble all parts?

hey,

i'm a dutch guy, so my english may be sometimes very bad, my apologies for that.
but i think all of you will understand me.
i had a question about building a laser, and putting all parts together.
the parts i'm gonna use are:
- a lpc-815 diode
- an Aixiz housing
- this driver: (from someone on this forum) Surface Mount FULL RANGE ADJUSTABLE Laser Driver pre-assembled [Stonetek_RKCSTR_FULL_RANGE] - $18.99 : StoneTek Electronics, Your Laser Parts Store
- 3.7V 900mAh Rechargeable Lithium Batteries

i thought this was enough for the laser. But when i've put the diode in the housing, and the driver in the back-end of the housing, how do i connect the housing correctly with the batteries?
can i use a flashlight for it? or do i have to connect it otherwise? i'm sorry, but i've never done this before.. i'm sorry that i'm such a noob XD

Your going to need a heatsink also. I' will let those who know pointers better than I continue this discussion....

ok, thanks, does anyone know where i can find a heatsink for a reasonable price? why do i need also a heatsink actually? cause i thought that wasn't necessary? (i'm really a noob, sorry for that :$)

Hmm...I can't explain logistics, but I can say that a heatsink is very important on some of the more powerful lasers, it's what takes the heat from the laser diode because without it the diode will/would overheat and die. It's also needed if you don't want quick 'duty cycles'. Without it you'd need short duty cycles, 20sec on 40sec off, etc. Also, yes, you can use a flashlight, but I recommend you look at some of Jayrobs kits, he is a very professional individual, and will be able to assist in your build. What he can do for you:

Make you a kit
Set up a flexdrive(a flexdrive driver is your best bet when using a kit, it's smaller)
set-up everything for you so all you need to do is put it together.

Since you alreay bought the rckstr driver, I recomend you do the '3405 flashlight build' I will link you to it in a minute. For the time being, I'm going to 'butter you up a bit' so to speak. This build will cost an additional $55 (if you get the lead wires soldered on, so it'll be (LITEREALLY) a 5minute set-up once you get it in the mail). All you do (once you get the kit) is unscrew the cap, solder the driver to the lead wires in the kit, slide the module into the heatsink, screw in the set-screw, put in 3 rechargable 10440 batteries, and you're off! You will need 3 10440 batteries and a charger. I already have this kit (just bought it). And its amazing, it feels solid, no rattling, clicky switch on and off for safety and for additional awesomeness, it's a great host/kit combo! And, the links you've been waiting for! (PS: you won't need a flexdrive for this, but plan on getting one for other kits)
