max around 40-50 max but i dont have the skills to build a laser right now im going to build a 200-500mW laser right now if im successful i might build a 1 watt

i recommend you use a different host and module, much more easier and no modifications.

dont worry, it will get through. the worst they can do if you import one full laser is send a warning letter to yah

um im gonna build a violet or red laser and will my driver work i have no clue im definetly gonna buy a new 1 if u think it doesnt work

I would start with the cheapest diode (red), until you have practice.
Do you have a DMM?
Do you have an anti-static strap/mat?
Do you have a good soldering iron?
Once you build a few with cheap ($2-$10) diodes, you can move up to the 500mW 635 reds ($50) and the +1W ($40) 445 blues. :evil:
Don't forget your safety glasses.
