In the talk about trying to correct the beams on these I now have something to say on the matter.

I built my first high powered 635 about a week ago. It's set at 750mA and I was using a red coated aixiz acrylic lens that came from Qumefox IIRC. I was very upset at how horrible the beams were on these. On a high powered 445 it is bad but nowhere near as bad as these are. I was horrified at it. But I got one of the lenses that Lazeerer showed a few posts up in this thread.

And wow! It really makes all the difference in the world. one single lens, easily replacing an aixiz glass lens, and easy to modify. But it makes the dot bearable and the beam not the size of a house if your pointing outside.

I don't even have red blocking goggles so I can't take any measurements but like I said, outside pointing at far objects.... SO much difference.

I hope Lazeerer will start selling these as the power drop is very little with a much much better beam.

I was horrified at it.

It is a bit of a shock when you see one in person for the first time. As of now I only have a single 635. As cool of a build that it is, I doubt I'll bother with any other 635s until we can get the beam at least as crappy as our 445s are. :p

When my cash flow issues get sorted out I'd live to try of those lenses though. Anything that can help that beam has got to be a good thing! :)

Well you can get a 2W 4mm beam with around 1.08mrad.
That is not bad.
That is very close to the same as alot of the lower end green lasers, that have a beam of 3mm and a 1.5mrad.
So in a projector stand point the unit is only as good as your worse beam and that happens to be green for me and many others.
Also there is another new lens on the market that is being tested and should be able to get a mrad closer to a 0.87 to 0.93mrad.
But this wont be as cheap as the other lenses on the market about the price of a 405-g2 or slightly higher.
