Diode JAD Kit - 378mA, Black anodized aliminium, aliminium focus adapter. Lens - 635nm-660nm AR Coated Three Element Glass Lens. Goggles Batteries
A bit more than I was originally planning on spending, but I guess that's okay. I think it adds up to about $120, but that includes goggles which I guess are a long term investment.
Yeah but the 4 pack is un-protected, I might just get 2 of this pack so then I have 4. Oh yeah, forgot about the charger. Any specific charger you recommend?
That charger works. I have used them and sold them myself so they are tried and tested. I did notice on a couple units I have had to lengthen the springs a little with a screw driver so they made more solid contact. They charge 18350s as well.
Also, for the most part, protected cells really aren't needed and add extra length to cells which often causes them to not fit very well in hosts. From what I have seen a lot of the time cheap protection circuits are set to cutoff at way too low for the cell to even handle anyway and don't really protect much. IMO, you are better off with the 4 pack and just remember to charge them up every few uses. I find that protected cells are better for flashlights since you are generally more tempted to run them for much longer at a time and usually when they are being used you are doing something so you may not think about the power levels of the cells.
Oh okay, thanks for the info Apex Don't protected cells also stop you from overcharging your battery and making it blow up? If I get unprotected batteries won't I have to sit next to the charger and "babysit" it?
I mean, obviously protected batteries are better since they prevent you from overcharging, but what I want to know is if the protected batteries will still fit in my laser?
Any lithium charger worth buying will cut itself off at the right voltage so you do not have to worry about that. The value on the unprotected cells is better IMO.
Also, you can't be sure that the protected cells will fit unless you can measure them. I have two protected TrustFire cells that will not fit in my identical laser.
