^ THIS!

Just like PonyBoy (Stay golden...) I have the same setup. Use the 16340's. I ran my setup w/ the 3400 Panasonic, and it still couldn't push full power. You will want both smaller batteries with the linear setup...you'll be happy, don't worry.

Stay gold Ponyboy, stay gold.

Okay well I think I'll just use the 18650 batteries that are being shipped with my torch to save a bit of money, and then when I feel I want a bit more power I'll buy the 16340's :)

Am I right in saying that all I'll have to do is solder the leads from the module onto those on the driver. Then just replace the lense?

I haven't used this kit before, but I am fairly certain that's all you have to do.

I found my 16340s on Ebay for $.99 plus 4 bucks shipping...$5 ain't bad for couple of these!

I like to get protected ones though, so it costs me a little more.

Wow! If they're that cheap I might have to get them!

It's sorta late here, night all :)

What batteries do you think I should go with, 18650s or 16340s?

You only want a little bit of power from the laser but at the moment (so you would use a 18650) but in a few weeks i think you will find you want more power. I would get some 18350's from fasttech because they will take about 2 weeks to get here and you will probably be wanting more power by that time. Also, what safety glasses do you have?

No safety goggles for 650nm at the moment. I know there's no price on eyes and everything but is there a cheaper pair than the Eagle Pair that are just as good?

For 405nm and 445nm there are but i dont know of any good and cheap ones for 650nm. You should just get a pair of eagle pair. You only have to buy them once remember :)

Yeah I guess so, thanks :)

If I do get the Eagle Pair, THESE ones are the only glasses for 650nm that I could see. Too bad they can't protect against 405nm as well!

Will they actually protect well from 650nm though?
