Whats up guys, i wanted to get into the heatsink duscusion for small LED flashlights. there are few and far to come by, and me and my friends thought it would be nice if we had a thread about using/obtaining/or even making them.

this is the best one i've stumbled accross that will fit in a "1 inch" flashlight.
"when i say 1 inch i mean ROUGHLY one inch, it should always be a few millimeters smaller for compatabilities sake"

this heatsink comes from a great member of the community im sure you all already know, i dont know his name on THIS site, but his ebay name is

Lasers4u

and here is his heatsink.

this is the best heatsink I'VE come across for working with a tiny 1 inch flashlight, if anyone else knows of any others please share!

My entire reason for posting this thread was to collect information on other heatsinks for me as well as anyone else who may be interested. These heatsinks give us the ability to build small 100% duty cycle lasers with great heat dissapation. all in a 3x1 inch package. pretty amazing considering the NORMAL size of a laser pen at those amounts of power "100-400mw".

So if you have any thought or information you'd like to share please do so, In the end i hope to find the best of the best when it comes to heatsinks.

Glad to be part of the community and i wish you all the best of luck, and EVERYONE deserves a laser!

[sarcasm] no offense but you say it is the best heatsink you have used but you want more kinds. then you only mention the ebay seller. it seems more like a sells call than somebody looking for advice [/sarcasm] if not than i apologize.

i said its the best heatsink ive "come accross" i didnt say i bought it. no offense but it was simply a light hearted attempt to start a thread about something i like and am interested in.

and it was NOT a sales call. hence why links and prices are absent. and i mention the name of the seller because THAT name is what i know him by, but from speaking with him i KNOW he is also a member of the forums, so i felt it was needed to mention him in an attemp to asign credit.

"sarcasm" thats the 2nd irrelevent post you've dumped in this thread. keep it about heatsinks ok, that way everyones happy, except you apparently. "sarcasm"

i didnt pay for it, but i do believe he sells them for 12.99 with free shipping. im not sure of his stock, why dont you PM me and we'll talk a little more jake21 i would like to take you up on your offer, as the heatsink in the first post does NOT fit Aixiz modules, only the included module. I already own about 50 Aixiz modules so if you can offer a heatsink of this design "1cm long, same diameter" but with a 12mm hole in the center, and maybe a threaded whole for a set screw, we can do bussiness. PM me.

anyone notice a difference in performance "heat wise" if you mount the entire aixiz case in the heatsink VS just the head of the aixiz module? for some reason the outside of my flashlight gets hotter when the entire case is inside... its weird.
