So here's all the red from 635nm-685nm:)

Starting with 635-638nm there are only 4 with constant on. There's at least another 4 with momentary buttons. These are all class 4:

I added a 650nm in the middle to show the difference:

Next up we have 650-660nm all are 200-400mW. In fact, these are all LPC-826 diodes:

The rest of the 650-660nm ranging from 34mW to 1.1W:

That's it for red so now onto yellow in that section:)

Red beams are still one of my favorites, the 650nm is such a deep red color, I love them on a foggy night, and the beam quality/low divergence is just so right.

I agree with you Red, they are one of my favorites also, particularly the single modes.
They may not have the Wow factor of the greens, but they are a beautiful sight in the night sky.

one of your class 4 638s looks like it has very good beam specs. the top one in the pic. can you tell me more about it?

gotta love the lpc 826s. if only all diodes made beams and dots like that

I will have to take a look to see what that top one is for sure but it obviously has a 3 element lens. Pretty sharp looking beam as you noticed.
685nm is weird. Kind of hard to explain. I had to add a lot of fog for those as they are both under 50mW.
All those LPC-826 are pretty nice aren't they:) They burn well too with such a tight divergence, low cost and can be pushed. I used them like the fasttech green modules building a ton of them. I didn't have a single one die and some hit 400mW.
I know you love your single mode reds Jeff;) Unfortunately all of my single mode under class 4 lasers are pretty much pens with momentary try switches so they were not included:(

Nice that you threw that one 650 in the middle of the 638 pic's:) Really wanted to see a good comparison. Thinking of needing a red 638 for night time outside sky shots.
A bit more orange I see and what members say plus its somewhat easily seen?

Hey Pete, just re-visiting the thread again, and I recognized the familiar little Coleman in the 1st photo (top laser), glad to see it getting a bit of excercise. :D

Add up the power of all your reds and you'll have the power of "Arcturus"

That's a nice red collection, I only knew the 635nm by a LASER level that my dad have (5mW is very bright). Never had seen 685nm. Thanks for showing.

I missed out seeing these before now. As always, a huge collection of pointers with many different diodes. Thanks for the photos.

You are welcome.
Just built another 465nm ie should be 470nm from another 07E at 5A I may toss up tomorrow. I need to take a look and see how it compares to my other 2.

I'm looking forward to seeing that. Do you have any way of measuring the wavelength? It would be interesting to know for sure where it falls between 465nm and 470nm.
