First Red Laser Build

Hey everyone new to the forum and just had some questions on my first laser build. I watched KipKay's video on how to turn a maglight into a burning laser and i just have a few questions. 1- Is a maglight a bad host for a dvd laser. Also i know from reading topics on the forum that i will need a driver. 2- what is a good driver that will fit in the aixiz housing. I already bought a dvd diode from build-a-blue-laser.com for 25 and a aixiz housing for 4.00. I also have the maglight from Radio Shack. I know i spent more than i should have on the diode but that was before i found the forum and stonetek. 3- I also want to know what kind of AA batteries should i use with the maglight if i should use the maglight that is.
