Hey all, I'm pretty proud to say that I've finally built a laser, after months of reading and searching I've finally made a something i'm proud of.

What did it cost?
Host: $50 shipped from Jayrob.
Diode: $7.50 from Odicforce.
Modules and module press: $25 Came in a pack of three modules + the press tool from DTR.
Driver: $10 Shipped from Blord set at 460mAh.
Batteries: $17 Came with 2 16340 Batteries + a charger.

Things I wanna do:
  • I wanna get a warning sticker made, Which i'll be doing in a couple of days.

I still don't know the output power of it. Is anyone able to lend me they're LPM(Preferably in Australia)? i'm happy to pay express postage both directions, I have another green module sitting in the draw which will be going into a host once it arrives + I have all the parts for another LPC-826 Build when they arrive. So they will all need LPMing because I want accurate outputs on the danger stickers.

Thanks for reading!

Nice build!! :) and usually for the lpm you do it the opposite way... you send them your laser and they lmp it for you. Also this grand total could have been a lot cheaper. The DIY c6 is on DX for $10 and you can get a heat sink here for $10 here too. I'm not saying anything is wrong with buying it from jayrob and I don't want him to lose business. But good job on your first build!

Very nice build bro.

I agree with Blord. The M140s are spectacular to build with and I can;t get enough of them. Though recently I have been enjoying having some single mode builds around just for their perfect beams.

Survival Laser sells C6s with heatsinks for $20 but I know jayrob is known for his work quality so it may be worth the extra.

I'm definately going to look into that.. What i'm trying to find at the moment is red tailcap buttons, and the anodized lens knobs.

nice job bro! you made a good choice for your first build. the c6 is roomy enough to fit most drivers and gives you plenty enough heat sinking for a red. what lens are you using? keep up the good work!

Thanks man I really appreciate it! This build is just using standard Aixiz lens. I'm going to be using G1 lens on my next build :)

if you want the red tailcap i would suggest DX if you dont mind waiting. and the anodized focus knobs can be obtained from survival lasers they have red if thats what you are looking for.

EDIT- i checked DX and cant find any red ones! sorry :(

There are no true red silicon tailcaps. These colors are available black, blue, green, pink, orange and white transparent.
I wish there are some red ones available .

Thanks heaps for all the help guys. My next build will have an anodized red heat sink, red tail cap and hopefully red focus knob but I don't like my chances.

I might try dyeing a tail cap red blord. Hope it turns out!

Why not start with pink ones since its near the color you are trying for? Finding a dye that will work on silicone will be the next issue.
