finally got my 1st DIY laser working

Ok so after wasting a good few hours and killing lots of poor diodes ive finally managed to get my 1st DIY laser up and running.
Im using this Diode in an Aixiz housing using a LM317 driver, the driver is being supplied around 7V from a mains adaptor and is letting 229mA to the diode.

Ive managed to burn a match with a black dot on the head from about 4 meaters away when focused.

I just need to find a host to put it into now.



Ive never taken a Beamshot before, need pratice.

Nice job! Very DIY! May i suggest a computer PSU heatsink and a project box

I do have a project box but now ive got it up and running im thinking of making it into a portable host, your right about a heatsink though as it all starts to get a bit warm after being on for a few mins.
