I once saw a company selling 140 megawatt lasers. Reckon I could put a dot on the Moon with one of those?

ROTFL ..... it just remembered me one of my first DIY ..... it was, like, 8 years and half ago, when 5mW pointers still had inside a decent module with a real diode (and not a bare chip on a piece of brass like now ) ..... took it away, modded to 11mW (yes, they had trimmers and current control circuits ), then put it in a little old broken pneumatic piston (as body), made a head with the brass part of a valve, and put the module with the beam coming out from the center of a 6 x 5mm led diodes ring, 4 high power white and 2 UV ones, keeping it keychain size ..... it worked for 4 years, but then, at 11mW, the diode stopped to work, so i throwed it somewhere ..... don't remember where it is, now, but if for any luck i find it, i post a pic just for the fun.

But, keep in mind, it was 8 years and half ago, when these "combined" pointers was not available ..... to be precise, it was just starting to appear on the market keychains with a red 1mW laser and a 3mm white led, at exagerated prices ..... you can't imagine the fun seeing the faces of the sellers, the first time i gone in one of these electronic fairs (or whatever you call them ) ..... stopping at their desks looking these pointers, and when they ask me if i was interested, replying "no, thanks, as you can see, i already have a keychain that do it better, and also have UV" and showing them it ..... you can't imagine the faces of some of them, LOL !

I was on the beach in a summer night, it was a very big party and some chinese sellers were around selling LED stuff and some 5mW red pointers.

Two of them come to me and tell me in a very bad spanish if I wanted one of those cool things, and I told them I didn't, but they didn't and started showing me all their stuff, after 10 times of repeating them "i'm not interested" I got tired and shouted at them "for the godness sake go away i'm not interested in any of these stupid things!" so they looked me in a bad mood and went away and started to point me at the eyes with one of the red lasers. At this point I took my 100mW green pointer and started to point at them and oh hell, you should have seen their faces.

Keep in mind near the sea there's a lot of water in the air and more in a hot spanis h night, so the beam was like if there was fog, it was truly scary.

Also, my evil laugh when I saw them running away was epic xD
