Hey guys,
I have a 780nm NIR Diode that runs off of 130mA and 2.4V, any higher will fry it. But the Dorcy Jr. supplies 300mA, and 3Volts. I have 2 questions:

1.) Would a rckstr mini driver fit inside the dorcy jr?
2.) What kind of resistors and components do i need to lower 300mA to 130mA and 3Volts to 2.4Volts.

Thanks

You've posted this exact question in 8 other places not including this one, just start one topic and wait for a reply in the one you start, there's no need for starting a bunch of topics.

oh this is nothing compared to the 40 pm's I got from him and him posting the same question on my metacafe movie. He's looking for instant gratification. he didn't get it from me. This is an example of if you can't provide something because you dont' have the knowledge, don't tell your friend you can provide it until you have the needed information.

for crying out loud. so you will shut up and stop asking this question in thousands of stupid threads here is the answere you won't f*ckin work for by studying and reading. in a dorcy Jr. a 22 ohm resistor will drop the current down to 35ma or thereabouts. You should use about a 10-15ma resistor in your dorcy to get you 130ma. Probably closer to 10ma.

Now I certainly hope that you understand that if you want things in life you have to work for them not wait for them to be handed to you on a silver platter. I can see you 10 years from now flipping burgers at mcdonalds or sitting on the side of the street cleaning windows of passing cars with your bottle of windex.

Dude, you don't have to get so damn aggresive! Look who didn't get his bottle of milk! Thanks for the answer, but im not the one who is in his 40's and making lasers. Why don't you loosen up and look at life from a different view.

Oh no! Not McDonalds! ;D

And what's wrong with making lasers at 40, is it a young person's domain or something? (not that you're old Kenom but sheesh) People need a hobby or something to occupy their time and lasers seems as good as any.

"Going" is easy. "Finishing" is hard. The work starts NOW, NOT when you graduate high school.

Learn to listen carefully and respectfully to those more experienced than yourself, or your professors will eat your lunch and smile as they wave goodbye to you. Just being smart isn't enough. I watch highly intelligent students fall apart all the time.

Peace,
dave

and that is one of the places where the answers aren't going to get handed to you.  I'm back in school "university" after 20 years and I have one professor that lectures on politics all day "communications" and expects you to read the book and find the information yourself.  so No free lunches there.  time to start practicing research.

Ya wonder why I got angry at you? we are all interested in this hobby. I learned what I did by reading and applying what I read. I didn't flood the forum with question and annoying people.
