Hello,
Has anyone seen or bought one of these?
DIY use 5.6mm diode housing +glasses lens
http://www.o-like.com/b2b_cpinfo.asp?id=964

The dimensions look like they’re made to fit the Dilda.
Perhaps make it a single cell?
It would be cool to make it not look like a….
Not to mention available replacement parts if you loose or break something.

I have asked Susie the question on her site and will post if I hear anything.

I'm going to pick one up anyway and see if I can get something to work.
I'll follow-up once I get it.

I have one of these!

It is exactly the same dia as the dilda, but the threads are nowhere close to even touching. It would have to be glued in place or an adapter made to attach it.

It is a very nice module, though, and has the screw-in holder for the diode.

It might look something like this mock-up...

Do you think this will be a sufficient heatsink for a ldoc diode?

Oops - I didn't see this post and I did a review of the modules in the "reviews" thread, they are pretty nice.... Take a peek at the review, it shows the entire module from several angles, etc etc

ok what I reall want is to see....

"O-like will launch out 400mW red laser torch!!!!!"

where's the 400???

I have a bunch of the dilda on order because they are a fantastic value. I cant wait to see what the price will be on a 400mw unit. I can tell I'll have to put in another order though :)

Re: Possible Dilda mod parts from O-like

I've received the 'DIY use 5.6mm diode housing +glasses lens' from o-like today and here is what I have found.

Similarities
-Lens is the same
-Spring is the same
-Outside diameter of diode sink is the same
-diode locking ring is the same

Differences
-no laser top cap (o-like)
-Thread & diameter are different (Where sink meets body)
-o-like is fully painted/coated and will not be case grounded (at least without some sanding)
-inner diameter of the o-like body is only 11mm wide

Conclusion
It seems like all it would really take is to make an adapter ring to fit the smaller o-like thread into the larger body of the dilda. Also some sanding will required to complete the grounds!
More modifications might be required if you want to fit the dilda cap onto the o-like sink and maintain full or close to full focus ability.

I'm not sure if I've decided to mod anything yet. After all the o-like is a pretty nice module on it's own... I'm waiting for my rkstr driver anyway.

Hopefully the pic works below Dilda(Left) - O-like(Right)
