Do I have a guarantee that that laser 180~200mW Red laser/ adjustable foucus£*>5~200mw Red laser pointer£*>Laser&lighting products£*>www.0-like.com in combination with these batteries http://cgi.ebay.com/Ultrafire-CR2-C...temQQimsxZ20090920?IMSfp=TL090920166004r24513 increase the pointer´s power? I´ve read lil bit around here, but I´m still not sure.

You would need to contact the Original manufacturer of you specific laser
for any Guarantees...

The Specs for the Laser say 2 x 3V CR2(15270) batteries ...
What you do above and beyond that is your responsibility...

Some of us took a chance to experiment and we posted our results...

The [Search] button is your friend...

BTW... were you actually looking for a guarantee from the Members
that posted an increase in their 200mW Red Dilda here so that if yours
does not increase in power... that those members would reimburse you..

Yeah thanks I´ve used the search button and read most posts about it. But I should ask if anyone here buyed the dilda version above from o-like and tested it positiv with 3,6v batteries? I also don´t want to decrease diode life time...
You´re right, I can´t ask a LPF-member for a guarantee. My question was bad formulated.
Someone else?

I have the old style dilda and definitely get a boast in power by using the 3.6V batteries.
With the 3.0, peak is 213mW;average 185mW
Using 3.6, peak is 245mW; average 205mW
I have read that the new style has a different driver and does not do this.
I make sure I limit the duty cycle to 30 seconds or less.
It gets warm quick using the 3.6's
I am sure it is shortening the diodes life, but how much is any body's guess. By limiting duty cycle I don't think it matters that much. Plus, 650nm diodes are cheap. If it dies I'll just put in another one.

You will get a 20% increase in power with a lens modification...

This does not put any extra strain on your diode, but instead, it is easier on the diode. (even though you will have 20% more power!) Because it lets more of the light out of module/lens:

Is the beam more visible after this lens modification, without the LPM? How much is the Meredith glass lens? Is an amateur able to add it to the laser? :)

Yes, anybody can add it. It threads right into the head of your laser as shown in that link that I posted.

The lens is expensive though. $57 dollars for the assembly. (see first post of that link)

But the lens will not degrade. And if not abused with dirty conditions, it will last a lifetime. Lasers will die, but the lens can be used for any AixiZ module red build...

I know your first question was about changing batteries to increase power. But this is not a very good way to treat your diode. There is also a cheap glass lens by AixiZ that will increase your power by about 4%.

Here's some power comparisons using different lenses for red and blu-ray:

Really nice work! The price isn´t that low but I will buy some of these lenses in a few months. In the meantime I take pleasure "only" on the normal dilda ;)

Thank u for informations! Best forum ever!!!

I agree 100% with Jayrob & Lasersbee. I have one of the 'old style' DILDAS from DX. I not only went to the 3.6 VDC batteries, but also put in the 'special lens' that is coated glass, made specifically for RED LASERS, (650nm-660nm), I used a lens assembly I purchased from LARRYDFW, (JAYROB ALSO SELLS HIS OWN VERSION OF THIS TYPE OF LENS). My results were a DRAMATIC increase in power, from an initial 165mW with just the 'stock' parts that came on the DILDA, straight from DX, to an amazing 295mW's !!!!! WOW !!!!! Also, as stated in the earlier posts, IF the diode should happen to blow, It's VERY SIMPLE to replace & IIRC the RED DIODES are about the CHEAPEST diodes to purchase. So, to sum things up; a change of batteries, & a change of lens, gave me an increase of a WHOPPING 130mW's !!WOOT!!
Not only that, the two modifications only took about 3 minutes to apply, & IIRC, the total cost for the new parts (batteries & lens) were only about $60.00. All in all the inexpensive MOD I did on my DILDA, turned it into one HELL of a BURNIN' MACHINE !!!! WOOT WOOT WOOT................. rob PS, A "SPECIAL THANKS" to LARRY DFW & JAYROB for the lens & also to LASERSBEE for the battery change idea. I THINK he was the 1st one that came up with the idea, for the battery change, at least he was the 1st person that I saw make a post about it. THANKS GUYS, GREAT IDEAS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want an advise: first buy the laser and then think about upgrading it. You're talking about tunning a car you don't even have...
