DealExtreme Dilda 200mW priced dropped - $29.53

Hey,

I'm not sure if it was posted already (tried to search it), but I just noticed that DealExtreme dropped the price on the famous "Dilda" 200mW laser from about $43 to $29.53 (and shipping is free), perhaps because of competition? (o-like?)

As an owner of 3 of those and a LPM, I can say these are up to spec or almost that (between 180-200+ mW), and they're pretty good quality lasers.

$29 (includes shipping) for a good 200mW laser, not bad at all...

I bought my first dilda for $54, and I thought that was a steal! This laser alone slashed prices on powerful reds...

$29.53 for that laser is almost too good to be true.. but I will order a few to test them out

It is because of the restrictions in the US and Australia that this price keeps dropping. Those were both BIG markets for this laser. Simple macro-economics

Have inventory -- Must move it

One thing to notice -- They have cut the price almost in half and they are still making a profit!

I just noticed this one in the "New Arrivals" section (I thought I'd bump this thread rather than open a new thread on DX):
DealExtreme: $39.66 Focusable 200mW Red Laser Pointer (1*18650)

Yet another 200mW model, this one runs on 18650 Li-Ion (bigger than the previous 3 models) and is water proof, costs $39.66.

It seems identical to this laser by O-Like, that costs $53.99:

I wonder if they all use the same laser diodes... just different hosts?

You're right, I didn't notice that. Both cheap in my opinion anyway.

@Dave: Are you sure they are still making profit? I'm wondering if they are trying to sell the last units to sell the new style unit...

Holy crap. This laser is the best selling laser of all time. Now that it's price is dropped, you can't expect less buyers right?
