Could i use this module and ....

ok as explained before, someone said that if i use this module and driver

and use a dvd burner diode, it will lose in performance

so now i see this green diode http://stonetek.org/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=220

which is cheaper than a red one

i was wondering if this will work also

if it doesnt work with that driver

will this work with it?

Not green, it is an infrared diode that can be used as a pump for a green crystal set.

i was wondering if this will work also

If you are refering to the driver from the DX 5mw module, whatever laser diode you connect to that circuit will give you 5mw output.

if it doesnt work with that driver

will this work with it?

Yes as long as you get the high range one.

Yup, seen the video, I won't be copying it...I must have at least 50 of those little circuits knocking around I would not consider attaching an expensive LD to it.

The parts for a DDL (LM317) will cost about $5 max, it is a far better route to take.

hey rog, you got a good tutorial i should follow, alot of them seem very breif

is a lm317 a resister that you attach with the positive cable?

is there a good tutorial to go with this?

cause i don't feel very comfortable with paying 25 dollars for a driver board

if heat is an issue, or w.e could i just apply thermal compound? the stuff you use for a computer processor

I am beginning to wonder if you are just winding me up........

You may be lucky and not blow the diode by following one of those video tutorials, experience here shows that 99% of the time all you will get is a very expensive LED at the end of it. (cue some clever b*gg*r who will post to say "I did it by connecting straight onto the batteries and mine is still working")

My website, http://www.rog8811.com/laserdriver.htm shows how to build an LM317 circuit, you could just add a resistor to the regulator and connect a battery and LD, it stands a better chance than no driver at all, but I would advise anyone to put all the safety features in, they cost cents.

At the end of the day you can choose to accept/ignore the advice given here, I could post links to dozens of videos that show direct connection to batteries, it will not make it the right thing to do.

hey you know a place where i can get all these parts cheap

i will just build a driver myself then, the driver boards for 25 - 30 bucks doesnt seem worth it

I get all my parts from ebay but you can get them from radio shack.
