i was wondering, is there anyway i can combine 2 red lasers into one for my DIY burner (i was gonna have a week one that points out where the more powerful one is gonna go before i turn it on) can i do this using a mirror and partial reflection film without loosing too much power?

A better solution is to use two different currents to the diode. Low current for aiming, high for some burning.
Use the DDL driver and a switch to choose between two different resistor values.
Make sure that the switch can't conncet both resistors at ones.

yeah that makes more sense lol ill just put 2 switches on it, what resistance do u suggest, and can i power it from a mains adapter that has an output of 3VDC

For pointing I suggest maybe 50-100 ohms, just make sure that it's above lasing threshold. For burning it is up to you and/or what the diode can take. To power it you need at least 6v and good stabilized adapter and caps. Use a on-off-on or a on-on switch with three connections. Batteries is the best IMO.

just as well, it has variable output   ;) and it can go to 6V

Bluray diodes are the ones that use between 4.5v - 5v, red diodes use about 3v average. ;)
