i understand that i don't have any powerful red lasers, thats probably because green is my favorite color, lol. but does it bother anyone else on here that for 7.99USD you can purchase an adjustable red laser? (that only puts out 2mW) And yes i understand that they may be cheap housings but still, it kinda tweaks a nerve of mine that the more expensive ones aren't adjustable.

I'll post a picture of my cheap adjustable one in a little bit

axiz modules are only like $5 each for a focus adjustable 5mW - the diode can be popped out to throw in any 5.6mm diode to your liking

ahh ok I get what you're saying, but when building your own axiz is the way to go ;)

I don't understand why don't they make all lasers adjustable. You'd be able to burn, and fine tune for the best divergence, and they wouldn't have to worry about preadjusting them or selling units with horrible divergence because of this.... :-/
And manufacturers could also make an aperture shuter, or at least include a protective cap for any laser above 100-150 dollar while they're at it.

i completely agree, but by not selling these things they can charge more for the "extra" features, but even with a cheapo red adjustable you cant make em burn, but still

Yea but they don't offer these extra features....ever. :p
And I completely miss the need for a low powered focusable pointer.Appart from the fact that it's just easier to make a focusable module than a non focusable, I'd say the aixiz module was made to house a more powerfull diode. ;D

The way I see it, if you're buying a module, then obviously you are an "expert" therefore adjustable focus will be available, besides the fact that the manufacture doesn't have to set it permanently for the best divergence. I'm guessing that most people buying laser pointers are not "experts" and don't want the burden of having to focus their pointer and it simplifies things that way. No body cares how it works, all they care is that it works.

true, i just buy cheapos to resell at my school when someone wants to bug a teacher, it comes with a no liability clause if they get caught though...
