Hey guys I'm still in California ATM (came here for camp LEM) and came across some deep red diodes they range between 670 and 690nm most hovering around 682nm. They are SDL7311 30mW 9mm diodes. If there is any interest let me know. Not sure a price yet.

What would be an application for such diodes, apart from having perhaps an unusual wavelength in a pointer?

Not sure That would be a question for Kaiser. I head home tomorrow not sure if i will grab the diodes or not.

Sounds like they won't come cheap. A 30 mW TO-5 LD in California, I suspect it will be much more than I'd be willing to spend. Still, if you come up with a price, let me know.

I got a few FLD6A2TK 685nm diodes very cheap on ebay a few years back. The color is different from 660nm, more "crimson", but it's noticeable only if you compare side by side.

I like 'em but I'm not sure it's worth paying much.

Thanks, but I'll pass. I have several LPC-836 and 840s in my stock and they are close enough to that wavelength for my purposes. Wouldn't be worth $30.00 for a 30 mW one that is 25nm closer to IR.

I am looking for some 680nm and some 690nm diodes (single transverse mode). Is this source still alive or another one out there?

Singlemode
