Hi All,

I Finally got my Host in. Its the 2x AAA MXDL Pen in the Gray Color:

Its Putting out 44mW Using a AR Coated Red Lens.

I first had to Turn down the Aixiz Module and Focusing adapter in order for it to fit. The Focusing Ring was also to big for this host and it was stopping just a tab to short for it to focus to a dot. So i had to turn that down to. I do not have a lathe so i used my bench Grinder and it came out pretty good.:) What do you guys think.:D

Over all I pretty impressed with this MXDL Pen Host. Its got some pretty good quality. The only thing that i hate is the clip. Iam afraid to remove it because i feel like it will scratch the host. When my others ones come in i will give it a go.:)

AVnet strikes again. Can't wait to order a HL63133DG myself, let's see how good will the FedEx shipping be. For $90 it should be!

Hmm i've been looking for another host to do since i'm finally about to get the sipiks nailed down to where I don't have supply problems. Is there any demand for these particular hosts? And more importantly.. is anyone else making them en mass? I don't really want to compete with anyone intentionally making the exact same hosts.

Feel Free to do as you wish buddy. I dont think anyone is mass producing these but i was going to make some when i get my lathe."~1 month" Nothing like mass producing them Maybe Around ~10 host. Not all at Once though. Would you mind.? THey will be complete laser also not just Kits.

However You dont need my promotion if you want to sell them, and if you do it wont bother me I Swear.:)

Who knows, maybe I can come up with a finned heatsink for these :D

Though as small of a diameter as they are, I doubt it though. Not one with enough of an increased surface area to matter anyway.

Finally got mine fired up today. I direct drove it with a button cell battery since the current draw on it was only like 30mA max. Pretty neat little diode. The dot is weird though, it's circular with like a triangle cut out on one side.

Triangle.hmm... Ive never Noticed this. I just tried searching for what you speak of and i cannot see this.

Maybe the diode is damaged.?

Interesting. Which side is it on when pointing at the wall.?

Maybe it's damaged. I did drop the diode a few inches when I extracted it from the heatsink. Maybe that did it? Who knows, I still have one more.

Oh, and no host yet. Going to go with a pen style though. I just popped it into an aixiz module I found and wanted to test it.

Not sure what it could be But i have no seen a Triangle before. Could have been damaged from the beginning.

Sounds good on the Host.:) I think these diodes are the best for pen build.:) The dont get Hot or even that warm when running them for a few minutes.

Cant wait to see your build.:)
