I recieved my 2nd DX200 red laser from DX last friday. The first one only put out ~150mW.. But the one I got last week is a monster! 216mW peak and 212mW average!

I actually ordered this one to be converted to an open can MEGADILDA for a friend of mine.. But after seeing how much power this thing puts out compared to the first one, its almost a shame to butcher it!

Wow.. Now I really pity anyone who buys a Pulsar..
I'll take the Dilda-Diode if you're going to discard it :p

Why dont you keep this one and take the ~150 mw one apart?

Wow, I was just coming on to make a comment about modifying a Dilda I might order based on your specifications on DX...well, you've answered that question for me! How would I go about testing the power of this laser?

You'd either have to buy yourself a laser power meter or send your laser to a trusted forum member who has one and let them test it for you. I'd be more than happy to test lasers for anyone in the states as long as they cover insured shipping both ways.

You could probably sell that one on e-bay for $185. +/- ;)

Probably, as long as ebay didn't catch ya. But nah, I wouldn't try to sell a plain jane DX200 for that kind of money.. I'd feel bad about it even if someone was crazy enough to pay that much.  Now if I were to sell one of the modified 260+mW dildas with an open can, micro driver, and glass lens on there I'd set the reserve price at around $125-$130..

I bought mine before: I even knew what "laser" stands for, I knew there was such thing a a $20 diode, And before I knew it was possible to make my own laser! The laser community really didn't help either! Oh well... ::)
