At CompUSA anyway. They are going out of business, probably close down around end of January. I went there today and saw STACKS - like around 100+ - 20x DVD burners, originally $54, currently 20% off... and there were just as many there today as there were two weeks ago when I went in.

I figure when they get down to 50% or more off, I'll snag several and have myself a harvest party! :)

Anyone else with a CompUSA in your vicinity might want to watch your area for sales on these!

it seems to be in test..a 16x has reached its max around 300 while a 20x can go around 500...
With proper cooling of course!

All right, I didn't know they were going out of business. There was a store here in the Twin Cities, but it closed, I guess this explains why. Now I just need to find another one. ;D

They probably will never put deals on their website - but the stores are liquidating inventory. Right now, it's between 10 and 30% off of things - but if the closing goes as they usually do, they'll get up to the 70%+ off range before they close their doors. They're even selling store fixtures, so they're really gonna go out with a bang!

CompUSA may only be in the northeastern quadrant of the USA, but I really don't know where their territory ends. I'm in new England, so there are a few around here. Best Buy killed 'em with their volume.

Happy Hunting!

Newegg has a Philips 20x DVD burner for $23.99 with free shipping. I can't post links, but just search Newegg.com for item N82E16827248009.
