I have the new style one also and i have a second one on the way. It is a really cool laser indeed. As for the 3.6v batteries if you google them there are several sites that seel them including Ebay. 3.6v batteries may not hurt the laser diode but they most likely will lessen the life of it. I just wonder how much more power will be obtained from the 3.6v batteries. 20-30%???

@emc2, lasersbee did a test w/3.6v batts in a dilda and got like 230mw. they are safe. i run it in mine as do a bunch of other members. I don't think anybody has had a dead one yet.

@bombasa, go to ebay and search juice cr2 batteries. the seller is winner sales. I got mine for a buck a piece. and dx has the charger you need.

laserbee pushed it to 12 and obtained 322mW for some seconds, so i doubt 7V is going to damage it or shorten the life :D

just and fyi... it is kind of pricey at 40usd but radioshack has a charger that is for 3.6v batts and the neg side of the charger slides up and down to accomodat different battery sizes.

Holy hell ..

I went down to my local shop to buy some batteries, just to play with my laser this weekend.

two 3v batteries here in Norway costs almost as mucjh as the damn laser!! (15$ each)

Thanks for all the help guys :) But i managed to waste my money last week, so ill have to wait another week for more (lol) I'll check out Ebay then :p

Yeah.. Don't get that charger! Nice job noticing that. You're better off getting one of those universal 3.7V lithium battery chargers from DealExtreme, and buying some batteries somewhere else since DealExtreme does not have 3.7V CR2s.

I got 6 rechargeable CR2 3.6V batteries on ebay for $8 and already had the multi charger from DX.. awesome bargain I got there :D
My Dilda is doing a crazy 238mW average which is a power increase of about 29% from what it used to be with 3V batteries.. after several months with probably 30 hours total use (added exterior heatsink) it is still going, or should I say glowing strong.
