Hey so when I bought my first laser from Novalasers I bought the laser beam visualizer spray. Its great!!!! I wanted to buy more but Nova isn't selling this anymore so does anyone know where to buy more of a similar product?  I want to buy a fog machine but fear that it will set off my over sensitive smoke detectors. Thanks.

You don't NEED a fog machine you can light incense or matches, stuff that makes lots of smoke is what you need.

If it sets off your smoke detectors just take out the batteries and when your done put them back in.

Also water in a spray bottle will do the same thing as "beam spray".

No....No it will not...That is why it is beam spray and not "water in a can with aerosol."

Lol, what nova sold was just fog in a spray, if it didn't set of the someke detectors the fog machine won't set them.

Remember the most common smoke detectors work by using a light sensor and a light. When smoke come in the sensor can't see the light as good as it did and then it gets activated. When you are using sthing to show the laser beam you are doing exactly this.

Google search would be a good idea if you know the name of the product. If you know the technical name of what the product is, that could help as well.

what about a small computer fan blowing smoke from an ultrasonic humidifier.

Yes, but that is not smoke, is micronized water, so it condense and disappear very quickly

There are some "smoke-in-a-can" things, around, for test smoke detectors, but don't think they are really cheap

For a cheapie, you could use a perfume atomizer, the kind with a squeeze bulb. Then you can experiment with different solutions to find some persistent material that floats for awhile. AKA Low-tech fog. :D
