Has anyone gotten the 7mm barrels to thread into a 12mm module? I tried months ago and it was a no go. Maybe a had a bad one.

About 9 months ago I tried also and same, no joy. :(

Threads just wouldn't catch.

The G2 has a shorter FL so the beam diameter will be smaller at aperture and the divergence will be worse. Although that's not going to be quite as bad with a single mode diode vs a multimode.

Thanks for the replies. Ill be getting G7's in future purchases then

I had no issues with mine using one of Dtr's module,
don't where the 7mm barrel was bought though as Lifetime gave it to me?

Its not really noticeable with a single mode, you can use a 3 element or a g lens and the output will look essentially the same. I have regularly swapped out lenses on my S06J and compared them when choosing lenses for my yellow laser with 2 single mode diodes.

Mine work fine, they do focus out near the end of the 12mm modules threads, but they fit just fine.
Maybe there was an over-sized batch?

Just want to confirm your talking about the shorter 7mm lens barrel.
The ones I have seem like the threads are cut shallower and that's what causes the binding. I compared them to the 9mm lens barrel ones and they are the same thread pitch. What I like about the 7mm ones is that the lens is set into the barrel further and would potentially allow them to be screwed into the module further. That is what I was trying to ask Podo about but it seemed lost in translation. Or modules with deeper lens wells would work just as well with the current 9mm G7.

Maby it's been brought up but measuring a few of my extra lenses i'm seeing the 9mm's at a real 10mm and the 7mm's at a real 8mm.
Who also has seen there G2's golden color tarnish?

I've seen them turn darker with tarnish, but being brass, I imagine they'll all tarnish with time.
Maybe if someone was using their laser very often and constantly adjusting their focus, it would stay shiny a bit longer.

You could always look at it as a "patina" and not tarnish. :D

I wonder if there is a very fine sand paper I could use on my sanwu pocket to pretty it up some? i have had my 650nm pocket for several months now and it is showing some minor scratches and scuffs on the host. i really need to get a nice foam case to stash it and future Sanwu's in, but back to the question: Anyone know a good sand paper grade to use on sanwu pocket to shine it back up?

Hey Jhop, if your Sanwu Pocket had a very fine brushed finish, you could use a 1500~2000 grit paper on it, just be sure to re-finish in the same direction as originally.
I've re-worked many of my aluminum, stainless and titainium hosts with it, and if done carefully, it looks like new.

Here is a combo. pack of paper that goes to 12000 grit. It's not cheap, but you'll find a paper that you like in there! I pick this pack up at a 'Hobby Lobby' store.
Or you know what grit you want, you could just pick up a sheet at the auto parts store.
