PBS Cube to Combine Beams? [VIDEO]

Hello, I am in the process of making a RGB scanner and I was told I should use 2 red laser diodes to compensate for the lack of human vision in the red spectrum. I am using two 250mw long open can LPC-815 red diodes which I have mounted in ModWerx heatsinks.

I purchased a 15mm "Precision Beam Splitter Cube" from the following website:

After testing, I think I may have gotten the wrong type of optic! Before purchasing, I contacted Optotronics and they said that even though it is not a true PBS cube (not polarized) it would still work for my application. I would think that on one side of the cube, light would pass straight through. While on the perpendicular side, light would be reflected off at a 45 degree angle to combine with the first beam of light. This would allow me to point 2 beams perpendicular from each other and combine them into one (much stronger) beam.

I think this may be the item I should have purchased, it IS polarized and they have different types for each color of laser:

It looks like unpolarized beam splitter.
To combine two beams with same wavelength you need polarized beam splitter/combiner.

:thinking: If CTlasers.com's PBS has options for different colors/wavlengths, why don't they say the PBS is AR coated? I would ask before buying & even ask what color each of their different coatings appear to be. (see if it matches what they Should be) I'm probably just being suspicious.

FYI, they most definitely are AR coated. CT Lasers sells the LaserWave PBS's.
