I remember reading a thread about this before, but I couldn't find it so:
does anyone know what optics are in a LPC-815 sled? Also, any suggestions on how to remove the optics without damaging them?

Dont quote me, but I dont think you can do much with them, besides experimenting. Not sure if there is a beam combiner or not. I use a flat head micro screwdriver and slowly wedge it into the compound holding the optics. Then give it a little twist till the optic pulls free. Go slow, and they should pop off.

For cubes I've always just wrapped them up in tissue paper and gripped them with a pair of pliers. Pop! They come right off the glue they're mounted to. For the mirrors or dichros I haven't had such good luck though, since they're wedged in slots. TJ's method could work, or you can cut away at the metal casing around the dichros.

wooden toothpicks can sometimes wedge out cubes and dichros without harm. go slow and gently --use two at same time to avoid chipping egdes and corners. A mag. glass on a helping hands and lots of light helps too. gl

Some have small holes underneath. The toothpick method would work good for those.

Let us know how you did. You never know, you may teach us something.

I'll start tearing them apart tomorrow. I have 4 of them, so I should be able to get all the optics out of at least one sled. Thanks for the suggestions!
