Default Re: OPT Lasers Cylindric lenses - NUBM44 beam correction tests

Yes long distance would be very good ! But really it's ok that the 6X are not ready at this time because I have all the lens coming that are need to give me a 12X squeeze of the fast axis using milos's setup and I have started to build my mounting idea for the lens !

Here is setup with Lasershow's plano convex front lens.

and here is the setup with OPT Lasers Plano convex front lens.

Both setups basically produced a 12x squeeze, but the difference was in the front and final piece of glass where OPT lasers produced an output beam of nearly 6mm (5.5mm-6mm) but a bigger necessary distance from the cylindric plano concave 4x+3x set.

The Lasershow's front lens although allowing for an overall shorter setup, it produced a tighter output beam of 4mm!

Milos Are you still around ? I'm not clear as to which front lens you used ? Did you end up using the thinner Lasershow's front lens to get the tighter output beam of 4mm ? Because isn't the whole point of this to get the tightest output beam as possible over a distance with the least amount of divergence ?

Default Re: OPT Lasers Cylindric lenses - NUBM44 beam correction tests

Hi,

I must try the cylindrical (lower loss) vs prisms (easier to tune & same for all diode) slow axis correction.

Why none use this lens : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/Broad...608.0.0.JpUxvt
I use it for all my lasers (single and multimode)
This lens work better than 3 element from Aixiz for power loss, and better than G2 for the fast axis divergence (fast axis is the singlemode axis, the thin axis after a standard colimation).
This lens can replace a dusted 3 elements inside the barrel (mount it on top of the screw).

I think we can get awesome divergence for beamshow (galvos with large mirror) with this lens + a good slow axis correction.
For burning pointer the best is still G2 (minimal loss) + correction + beam expander. Without beam expander my lens do better than G2 and 3 elements.

What do you think ?

Pascal

I don't know, Is that lens sold any place where it can be easily bought at a website in English ?

Is it good at a distance ?

I'd be willing to give it a try !

That is a single element aspherical lens with a LFL. It comes without a housing and for the price, is not a great deal at all. I think you can get the same lens in a housing for less than $10.00. It has a focal length of 8mm.

Basically it's like a sanwu G7, it won't correct that highly divergent axis, there is no magic round lens other than possibly an anamorphic lens.

Yes it's a single element aspherical with a bit more focal length than G2.
Yes it's not cheap but no, I can't get this focal length with housing at 10$ or please give me a link?
I ordered 16 lens and all are perfect, for G2 I get "1 bad for 3"!

This is the only one I found with this quality and focal length. I'm French sorry for my English.
It look the exactly the same divergence as three element!
This is like the lens used on a 4w (if i remember, the max power they sell) Arctic WL pointer (I ordered a WL and returned because the only good think inside a WL is the lens and barrel ! lol I don't like a product no repairable)

Far field is very good, better than 3element!
I can make a good quality long range picture of the spot for near any DTR diode (single & multimode) if you want, because all my pointer use this lens.

I build a OPT lasers uRGB with this lens soon. lol. (I ordered as "pedantic" kit and without diode, Mateusz is a good person)

I must test this G7 lens!

I know, with a colimator you correct only the fast axis.
fast axis for the RAW diode, the singlemode one.

When you put a colimator you get the fast axis corrected to a line. and slow axis (multimode one) you must correct it with 1 axis lens (cylindrical or prisms).

fast and slow axis look "reversed" after the lens but they keep they name for convention!
read sam laser fac

I don't understand why persons say the slow axis of the LD get over corrected when you focus the fast axis (a far field line) ... for me a line remains a projected line after a colimator, this is normal ! the emitter is a line!

Well I think I've pretty well explained what I'm almost finished doing with my 44 7 watt build, before I try anything else I need to finish what I've already started.....

By the way I'm getting one of the new 6X OPT Lasers Cylindrical lens pairs to try against the setup milos came up with, I just ordered it an hour ago !

I think this is true as focusing the collimator to a given distance can only be unfocused either way you go pasted that point and when it is focused to the sharpest output at that given distance the output without cylindrical lens correction is always a thin line with the 44 ? correct ?

I want a 6X also but with the brass assembly.
Can I add this assembly on my NUBM44 big host from survival laser with only a 3D printed tube "add-on" ? I must test this!

That brass assembly seems overly large and cumbersome to me ? But very well built !

I'm putting my Cylindrical Lens Pair setup in a adjustable tube as well !

I found the OPT Lasers 2x and 3x existing brass assembly very compact and minimalist ?

The 6x is not machined at this time ?

Cylindrical Lens need a very good precision, and with 3D printing I think I need the brass assembly.

I don't see any reason that could prevent the brass mount from being made more compact and still maintain the same precision as before ?

I don't understand what you mean by this ? The 6X lenses are finished and they are made the very same way as the other lens sets ?

At this time we can order lens only (without brass) I'm not CNC equipped I have only a filament 3D Printer. I think I can't use raw lens because they need huge precision. I think I can use prism pair because easier to tune.

I don't understand what you mean by this ? The 6X lenses are finished and they are made the very same way as the other lens sets ?
Mateusz say to me the 6x lenses need a brass assembly with larger space between the 2 lens (than 2x/3x). I wait for it.
I want to put the brass cylindrical lens assembly inside 3D printed tube, the tube attached on my NUBM44 laser.

Also I have two binoculars lens, one extracted from small binoculars and one big extracted from astronomical binoculars.
I want to print beam expanders to attach on this NUBM44 portable laser
