I was just now struggling with the Hammers beam alignment shifting from side to side even after I made sure the cyl pair was aligned, I just now figured out what was going on ! The G2 lens is sloppy threaded into the module and was shifting around so I swedged the copper module and that solved that problem ! For a little while there it was driving me nuts !

Either way for the sake of safety and everyone around you in neighboring apartments get a piece of wood like Paul said and RedC does? Your using your whole house as a test zone Flames tend to go up and with that ceiling fan it will go right into the ceiling.

It knows what it did, It pitched a blade off and threw it across the room and did so right in the middle of a heat wave in Las Vegas :wtf: It had it coming :huh: AND theres more where that came from ! :gj:


Just one more thing, I was struggling with Cyl Lens alignment mainly because when your placing one lens at a time you get a beam something like this.....





Which makes it difficult to tell if the beam is outputting straight and in the middle BUT I discovered that if I used a lens I had recovered from a disassembled camera lens and placed it at the end of the Cyl Lens mount like so.....





It changed that very wide and very thin beam line output to this.....





Which let me see how centered in the lens the beam was, like this.......





Not only that but since my Cyl Lens mount is a tube that can be rotated, Using the camera lens allowed me to visually see if there was any off center twist in either direction before placing the next Cyl Lens, It makes it very easy to tell because it looks like this if there is any twist what so ever.....


Left twist...



Right twist...




And then when placing the last Cyl Lens the camera lens was no longer needed and now I keep it as a laser tool.

I just thought I would share what I had discovered as it might help someone else in some way......

Haaa, obedient ceiling fans are so hard to find.

Not really "fun" but more of a great tool !

It got me over a obstacle that was giving me (this is quickly getting old) (tear your hair out) (ENOUGH OF THIS) fits !

And I like any tool I use to give me test results that are accurate and more importantly repeatable !

Safety, laser safety in focus is something we must all take seriously.

I have zapped an interior door in my 50 year old house with no children that I own and although it's my door we should all know that a hollow interior door has a hollow center with cardboard stiffeners inside that could smolder for hours.

At late summer/ early fall we should all know that dry foliage can smolder for hours as can a hollow tree, add in the dry windy days come early fall and what won't burn in the bushes all winter becomes a disaster waiting to happen.

So while I FULLY support Accutronitis right to burn his own fan, even if it gives the forum a bit of a trashy appearance, and I am no shining example of middle class cleanliness, I am most concerned that new viewers understand the safetry aspects of how materials can smolder for hours and burn down your domicile while you're away.

We have contributors from all corners of the world, even war torn areas where the house around the very cool old gas lasers may not have had the corners scrubbed spotless in years, that is not important, not to me, but safety is and we always want to promote safety even at nausea rather than give the appearance of carelessness.

So everyone have fun and lets enjoy freedom as much as we all can while we think to preserve our hobby at all times by promoting safety, it is our life's blood and it's the right thing to do.

I got my OPT 6X cyl lens pair today and they look great ! Time to start some testing !

I'm sure there are many ways to test the power of a Laser, I thank you for your concern for MY house....

Oh and I always disabled comments on my videos because of the dimwitted comments from children that don't know any better or older people who should......

They look good, I have been waiting to see some test results.

Right now DTR has the nubm44 on sale @ 70 dollars so I grabbed another to go with my on hand stock, they may not be around forever and 70 is a good price.

I actually said safer ways... not many ways..

Not concerned for your house.... More worried about
your neighbor's houses/property when your house goes
up in smoke.

The only thing that seems to be dimwitted is that
video showing the blatant disrespect for fire safety
while Laser Burning a ceiling fan indoors (that shows
signs of ignition on the blades) that will no doubt
put more bullets into the gun known as Stricter Laser
Pointer Regulations on our hobby.:yh:

But you go right ahead and have more sensationalistic

Believe it or not I do....... :friend:

I always push laser and fire safety and I think about my burning videos and if they could reflect poorly on our hobby when I post them, I think that not a lot of people see them and they are not as scary as say the laser bazooka or laser shotgun videos by our friend styro although I do try to get a little distance, even at that to light a paper cup across your basement then you will need a beam that you can manipulate because these are not metal cutters, they are very divergent projector bulbs that need a proper constant current and heat sinking as well as beam collimation then beam correction and finally expansion and focusing each time just to achieve the ignition of a paper bag that's virtually dry tinder at 20 meters after 20 seconds of holding very steady.

Honestly these blue projector pumps, even when manipulated with lots of lenses I will bet produce less energy per square inch than a simple 200mw DPSS green pointer at 5k feet.

I suppose we should all think to promote a soft and very safe public image of our hobby at all times, as for the 7 dollar flebay greenie I don't know what to do.

I will take down my burning videos as I don't want to add to any unsavory perception of our hobby that includes some wonderful lightshows and imaging, I look foreword to seeing affordable holographic gadgets someday.
