It's a module for a 5.6mm diode. it's 16mm wide, by 52mm long, and pieces together kind of like an aixiz module. How much more help do you need than that?

I used some modules like those I got off O-like few years back.

They're pretty cool. Bit more massive, but hard to change focus on because the lens goes below flush when threaded in.

You can still use them normally, no problems.

Also, it's "AixiZ" module, called because of the company that first introduced them,

I believe you have to solder the leads on the diode then add heat shrink and pass the leads through the module and the diode is sandwiched between the two halves.

Pol there is a small brass nob on the underside of the lens assembly I believe this is for the diode but not sure

Hmmm.. can you take pics of the inside of the barrel? I haven't worked with this exact module but I'm still betting the diode gets sandwiched between the two halves.
I can't tell from your pics but is your brass ring threaded?

my pic was a phone camera...

Looks like the diode goes between the back half and the brass ring..

Practice with an IR diode from a crappy drive sled.

I would use a bit of thermal paste on the back of the diode.

Ok pol there is a spring that is between the lens and the brass part

That spring is there to provide back pressure on the lens barrel to hold its focus
