Been slience for quite a while, today I came across with a new 7mm lens - G7 as my supplier told me. Looks similiar to G1 with a flat surface.
I believes it's a redesigned g lens for high power & divergence diode like 7875.

Video from starlight comparing other lenses with G7:

G7 is Coated for 400~550nm.
lens area dia: 7mm with 6.4mm of light pass through
Thickness: 2.5mm
barrels : 5mm or 9mm holder
Closest focal length : 8mm

From my full tests on 7875/7675/7A75 today the beam aparture of 7875 is around 5mm with the same dot size as three elements lens. And the rectangle shadow is "gone" too you barely see it if you don't try hard enough.

Readings from my LPM showing the power loss is greater than G2/G1 but better than 3-elements:

445nm 7875 with G2 : 3.5W , divergence >3
445nm 7875 with G7 : 3W , divergence ~1.5
445nm 7875 with 3E : 2.7W , divergence ~1.5

445nm 7A75 with G2 : 5.6W , divergence >4
445nm 7A75 with G7 : 4.9W , divergence >2
445nm 7A75 with 3E : 4.3W , divergence >2

462nm 7675 with G2: 2W divergence >3
462nm 7675 with G7: 1.6W divergence ~1.5
462nm 7675 with 3E: 1.5W divergence ~1.5

445nm 7875 with G2 dot in 4.5m : 1.7cm
445nm 7875 with G7 dot in 4.5m : 0.85cm

445nm 7A75 with G2 dot in 4.5m : 3.4cm
445nm 7A75 with G7 dot in 4.5m : 1.7 cm

My 5x G7 has arrived today:

So in conclusion, G7 produce a beam and dot like 3 element lens usually does but with a more light passing than 3 element lens although not as good as G1/2.

I would suggest to use G7 for a 7475/7675/7875 handheld but not 7A75 as the divergence of 7A75 is too big, only the middle part of the light would contact on the lens.

The post has been edited entirely along with the information... There's huge different from what I said previously but I just want to give the correct information as everybody does here on LPF.

Lenses sent to thejoker301 & starlight for better test and data. :beer

Let's see what is the real deal for this lens.

This looks very interesting. Definitely keeping an eye on this.

Having such would be a wonderful improvement for high power multi-mode diode pointers, low divergence is the path of the enlightened. Although, I don't really see much improvement in the photograph unless as evidence it is blooming a bit to the cameras view from the higher power?

I forgot the "0", it's taken at 10m. thanks for the reminder.

My bad, I didn't clue in what you were doing with the photo earlier, you are showing the lower and higher power diodes side by side with the different lenses to illustrate their divergences are similar with the G7, the 7A75 normally having twice as much divergence.

Very nice!

lovely. that will really turn up the power density of the 7A75 over distance. I want one

scratch that, I want several

if they were not coated for violet-green, I'd want some for reds too.

No more reason for us to nerf 7875 with 3 elements for better divergence I guess....at least from now 7875 would be a real powerful laser diode along with the acceptable beam.

Impressive. You certainly seem to have good contacts in the laser realm. Thank you for sharing this and also the double beam 638. +rep

Any idea on production/availability and cost?

As what I saw in other post, Aixiz is already compare it to G2 lens and selling a new single lens. I don't know if that is referring G7 lens but you can contact aixiz to find out.

could you clarify what post you refer to and maybe provide a link? I dont see anything matching this description on aixiz, the g2s they list are the same as ones I've already gotten from them before and the wavelegth range does not correspond

Let us know how they compare to the Aixiz "G2", power, and divergence wise if possible please Sir. If a group buy opens up and they are comparable I'll definitely be in on a few!

Oh that one. I dont think those are the same, otherwise, I have a bunch already

I don't know if my G1/2 is totally the same as the Aixiz "G2" and second my power meter readings cannot be recorded so I couldn't provide a chart to campare G7 to other lenses.

Edited.
