a motor from a cd/dvd drive cut the Q tip in half and slide it onto the axel connect the battery and you have a smudge free lens cleaner.

This seems like a good idea, but once the Q-tip has weared a bit, the hard plastic stick bit will come through, and possibly damage the lens. You can see it's already wore down a bit. I'd rather see something in the likes of a lens pen cleaning tip that spins around.

Why do you need it motorized?

So far i've found that things either do come off with a q-tip in a few swipes, or not at all.
