The x3 expander is build to fit 7A75 7475 copper host hanheld beause the beam and dot size from these two diode through the G2 lens is not impressive. So I gathered some projector lenses to build a beam expander. Three lenses were used to make this.
Cracking down parts from projector:
The power loss with G2 lens and the beam expander itself is only about 95% as 7475,roughly 300mw loss as 7A75 with G1(6.2W->5.9W).
The first eyepiece lens would diverge the light but the focal distance would be so long and wide.
O-rings with different thickness were used to fill up each gap from lens to lens to achieve perfect focal function.
So there is the middle lens it would collimate the beam into a shorter focal distance.
Installing the objective lens that exclusive coated for green light to bunch the laser light.
It can be also found inside laser projector.
At the tail, o-ring is added below the eyepiece lens frame to make sure the structure is fixing tight.
Finished!
LPM showing the output is pretty close with the expander mounted and without.
Without
Mounted
With the x3 beam expander the 7A75's beam looks so great:
Dot comparison with the 7875 handheld. With the beam expander the 7A75's beam profile would act like the 7875:
Sorry for the pictures quality ,as you may knows they were all taken by my Z ultra only.:na: Wish I would buy a better setup.
