Yes, buy this and take out the line generating optic (or leave it in if you're going to use the module).

You will probably have to shine your laser through it... ::)

That is exactly it... you shine the Laser's Beam through the Glass Stir Stick's
diameter....  :)

I would have a hard time doing it any other way... :-?

I mean..... all you had to do is try it... there are only so many possibilities
with a simple stir stick... ;D

I'd go with one of these instead of the DX version, Aixiz ships a lot faster than DX.

Oh yeah, I love doing that with the christmas tree light glasses. :D Just remember if you live in the USA, Dealextreme will not ship ANY lasers to you now. They'll just give you a refund a few days later. :-/

You want what is called a cylindrical lens.   Depending on how long a line you want, you will need a longer or shorter focal length.

For example, if you shine the beam through the stem of a wine glass, you will get a long line.  If you shine it through a clear glass of water, you will get a short line.

I recently bought a clear plastic ruler with a built in cylindrical magnifier along the length of the ruler.  It was a couple dollars at a department store.  I cut it into short sections to make many cylindrical lenses.
