Try building one like Hemlock Mike did with a cheapo telescope from DealExtreme. With the one you've linked, it may or may not be easy to mount a diode into that thing. Typically with those optical components on ebay: if you don't already know how they work and how to use them it's best to just avoid them. I've got lots of optics stuff that just sits around because I don't know how to get it to work, or it just didn't do what I thought it would.

I'm pretty sure you can build an extender with the optics from a KasEO projector. I've tried it (hand holding them in place) and it seemed to work.

There's also a sale at SurplusShed.com right now. If it were me, I'd basically find a short focal length concave lens, and then a convex lens with the exact same focal length, but a wide diameter. I *think* that's the general approach. Then DIY a housing :)

That won't work. The positive lens has to have a focal length greater than the negative lens. The wider part is correct.

If you want it cheap, you can always salvage the optics from binoculars, spoting scopes and such. Any of these devices will work 'in reverse', but they will most likely not be coated for the wavelength you are using, so expect some losses,

One of the big challenges is actually not optical, but practical:
- What kind of attachment can you dream up that would create a fairly sturdy seal with lasers of potentially different diameters?
- I can see some sort of stretchy rubber tube working, if it was elastic enough to fit a few someone similar diamaters.

I use inexpensive PVC pipe. Easy to machine and comes in many sizes and styles.

What laser is that?

Also, do you have any pics of it running with the beam expander on it?

Very clever!

Like the purple bedding. ;)

I agree! Great job mike! This is inspiring, it looks like a sky laser maybe? I'm not 100% though

Ps nice silk sheets too ;)

update on BEs on sale.
see my jetlaser FB #7 thread- big discount on 3X,5X and 10X BEs each comes with free adaptors fitted for three sizes of lasers.

The OP has already found this sale-- so this post is aimed at those who have not...

http://laserpointerforums.com/search.php?searchid=885319

you will also have to pay shipping fees- one equal share of the China to Tx cost and the Tx to you actual shipping costs. If you insist upon Poop Pal you will need to fork over an additional 4%..

GB#7 MAY be moving into the pick and pay stage within the next few weeks-- anybody NOT living in CONUS can contact Gray at letlasers for GB quote and get your items now-- no need to wait on my GB..
