I dont understand how thats a good knife edge array for us. How are you going to adjust the mirrors after you attach them to the "fins" on that array?
I think its best to get mirror mounts and position them manually on a base plate.
That knife edge was probably scavenged from a video projector where the diodes where positioned perfectly so adjusting the mirrors themselves wasnt necessary, or the diode holders were adjustable instead, but for us this array seems useless.

I'm sure you are right. Admittedly, I don't know anything about knife edge arrays. I just happened to see someone looking for some and remembered that I had seen some for sale from a reputable seller. I had no idea if they were any good or what you happened to be looking for. Just trying to help.

I always dreamed of several lasers mounted on a circular rack aimed at a large lens focusing onto an array of stearing crystals and finally concave lens lens. Sort of like a Deathstar configuration. I am not a machinist so I never attempted this. I'sure the focused dot would be like this. " * " depending on how many beams combined.

YES- afaik all projectors from Kasio/BenQ etc have beam combining with knife edged mirrors and dichro mirrors HOWEVER I was never able to make much use of these and the mirrors themselves are NOT easy to 'harvest'-- BUt the dichro mirrors in these are usable for combining 3 or more wavelengths-

They (like the knife edging) need to be on an adjustable mount- w/o ...both near field and far field alignment will be difficult--
Knife edging works great for projects like LUMIA or SPIRO- where you dont care as much about how well the beams are 'stacked'

hope this has been helpful--hak

if you still want the 8 mirror kinfe edge from a Kasio - PM & I will mail you one for the cost to ship from Tx to Fl.

I deleted all my old PM's before I sent the knife edge array out and haven't been able to remember who I owed it to :( and don't have the address anymore.
