GGW PBS Cubes?

In the GGW sled there are 3 PBS cubes inline, small medium and large.

Has anyone experimented with these to see what wavelengths they can combine?

P.S. They look like PBS cubes.

Here is a picture form my 6X sled offer. You can get some idea for at least what won't pass, by what color is reflected from the white light flash

You can also look at what diode (red, IR, BR) the cube is in front of in the sled.

However, I do not think anyone has done a systematic test to be able to answer your question.

Out of all the optics in Dave's pic, I like the magnets best :D

You can tell from looking at the cube, there is a color that is reflected, and the color that is passed (usually opposite colors). You can try to combine lasers by judging from look of it. However, expect heavy losses on green lasers on EVERY optic on EVERY sled, as no green laser is ever intended for the sled.

Which never stopped people from building 7color lasers from PHR sleds. :D

Cool pictures dave, how did you extract the optics so flawlessly?

The same way you get to Carnegie Hall -- practice, practice, practice

Some of them have a "hole" under them where the glue is that you can push them out through. Most of them I use a "padded" miniature screwdriver to wedge them loose. Some of them require the physical destruction of the metal of the sled to extract cleanly

I still have 8 of these sleds left for those of you who want to play with some inexpensive optics

ah right thanks for the tips :) I struggled to get the magnets out in one piece in the last sled I extracted from (destroyed), in the end I got frustrated and put them in a box for a later date.

Incase anyone wants to know, front row 3rd in from the left is the dichro I discovered will pass red/green and reflect violet (405nm)

Comes in handy for a 7 colour 'inline' build (without pbs cube)

The optic from the PHR sled is quite usable for this - at least the flat one that reflects 650 and 405 at a 45 degree angle, and passes green mixed in from 'behind'.

I suppose a relatively big loss in green isnt that much of a problem for those that want to make a nice color spectum, since green is usually present in overkill amounts if white or even yellow is the target.

The nice thing about these sleds is that they usually have pretty efficient optics for 405/650 combination.
