I found this lens that appears to be amazing, maybe im horribly mistaken & this is nothing new, if so I'm sorry.

Anyway, here's some pictures at 30 feet, I'll compare it to Aixiz 3 element glass.

First the Aixiz glass.

It's around 25mm... Normal for a multimode blue.

Now this new lens I found,

 a whopping 10mm on the spot at 30 feet! And it looks more dot-ish aswell :D

That's all I found just wondering if it's anything special or if I jus haven't seen this lens here before, it's fully threaded, not half threaded.

I don't know yet? :p if it is actually special I'll be able to sell them
For 9$ each though. But I don't know how special it is yet? :)

I dont really know if their special too because you would need to give us more info on the mather? Herritage? Pics of lens?

Power increase - decrease?

Greetings,,

yeah, i don't have an LPM, I'm building one any day now, it won't be calibrated yet but should give an idea of the output difference.

i will go take pictures now :D

i have the lens a focus adapter & i glued it in :p

its shorter then the 3 element glass lens also i just can't take it out of the adapter now

We are interested in the power loss of this new lens. To get a good dot the corners of the raw light output must be cut heavily. The resulting light through the lens will form a good dot.

Sorry if it's pointless... I was wondering if this is a good dot or if it's just something normal, I will let everyone know the output difference once I know though, I'm sure that will help...

This lens may be doing nothing more than focusing the beam at or near that distance.
Photos of the spot at shorter distances than 30 feet and distances longer than 30 feet would tell us a lot.

BTW since you are using a digital camera or cell phone and not film ( it being a one shot
deal ), take your time and make sure the next photo of the lens is in focus please.

I'm not the best with the camera's :p

That's not a very helpful photo.

Here's the awesome secret of taking photos: make sure whatever you're photographing is in focus, and then crop down. All those megapixels are completely worthless if the subject is not in focus; even a 100x100 group of pixels in focus is more helpful than terabytes of blurry pixels.

The reason why we can't really assess anything by your photos is because the laser is too bright for the camera. The dot is washed out, and we really can't tell if the surrounding purple halo is from the camera or the laser.

So what you need to do is either turn down the exposure by a lot. (at least -3EV)
Or you can brighten the room using direct sunlight onto the wall and then taking the picture. Then as Mr. Badger had stated, try cropping down the photo. Having a ruler next to the dot would be nice as well.

BTW, is this lens glass? I understand you might want to sell these, but where are they from and how many do you have?

Cheers!

I'm using a cell phone camera, it's not the camera it's me & I have no problem saying that :)

I can never take good photos of any bright laser, this is 1W 445 ( aproximate ) & I can't keep the phone & laser steady at the same time.

Polonium I don't have any at the moment I can sell, I was wondering about the lens before I bought a bunch...

AnthoT, If you want you could send the lens to me and I could LPM it :D I could pay shipping back to you.

I have most of the lenses that are available, so I could do a comparison of them in power and divergence/beam size, I also got an old DSLR from a freind so I can take ncie pictures :)

Let me know if you're interested.
