i was interested in this becuse i don't know where to buy theses and whether i would get the right one.
I do know about optics in telescopes and many others except for lasers.
hmmmm :-/
Re: could the lens from a 5mw laser be used in a 2
If you're talking about the collimating lens then yes, there should be no difference between 5mW laser lenses and 100mW laser lenses as long as it's the same color.I mean green lasers use more optics to obtain a nicely collimated beam, while red diode lasers use only one lens.So you probably couldn't swap lenses between red and green lasers. You could also use a red laser lens for a blu-ray pointer since it's still a diode laser and has a roughly similar output with the red diode.
Re: could the lens from a 5mw laser be used in a 2
Using only 1 lens you cannot collimate, but you can focus to infinity (almost) which looks like collimated and is way cheaper and focusable... i don't think it has to do something with colors.
Re: could the lens from a 5mw laser be used in a 2
I was just thinking that the lens from the red is not the same as the last lens from the green so you cannot swap them. Not saying that it's actually color related
Why is it incorrect to use the term "collimation" when using only one lens?
