If, 'First Contact', is the same type of fluid used to clean dichros in projectors, i.e. you paint it on, leave it to dry then peal it away, then there is no reason why not. It shouldn't damage the coatings but will likely be difficult to apply without getting it everywhere else, and to remove as the lens is often recessed.

If the results are the same as when used on dichros though, you should have a very, very clean lens. For those that haven't tried it in this application then I suggest getting yourself some.

as long as the axis lens isnt plastic and the lens housing isnt plastic...... it can clean any coated glass but will dissolve plastics....

Yes, first contact will NOT work on any plastic AT ALL. It will melt your lens and ruin it completely. If the lens is glass, no problems.
