beam expander for spyder III pro?

Anyone know where i might find something to accomplish this task?
i'm looking for a 10 or 20x expander. something cheap enough to not make me sick after purchase. I love beam expanders, but i'm not sure i want to drop 300 bones on one.

A 10 or 20x expander will cost more than $300, a lot more for 20x, and any beam expander would work, but try and find one coated for 488. You'd need a special adapter made though. I'd look at Optotronics for some nice Melles Griot expanders.

it'll probably be going on that 1w wl, the 445nm. 10 is fine if its cheaper. i just dont know how it would mount to the spyder III host. i haven't seen any good photos of it disassembled etc. so i'm rather lost right now.

spyder 3 has a removable glass top aperture cover threaded should be pretty easy if your jayrob lol

I don't think anyone has received an wl arctic yet. I do hope someone cracks it open when they start arriving.
You could have someone machine a custom adapter. Its also possible to build a beam expander.

You wouldn't know of any pictures of that would you? Or any kind of disassembly of a spyder III

Even if you can remove the front cap we don't know the beam specs yet, and most beam expanders only have a ~2mm hole for the beam to go through. You might want to wait for your laser, and see if it would even work before buying one.

from what the "specs" read at WL its a 1.5mm diameter beam so it shouldn't be to bad.
I'd love to be able to get the miel expander with someone machining a custom adapter for me. But at this point i wouldn't know what to ask for. just kinda getting back into the swing of the new things.

Yeah... Nobody is really sure if that claim is real yet. It's gonna be an elliptical shaped dot at best, and I'm betting that the outer edge of the ellipse will get cut off. We'll see I have a beam expander, and my laser should be comming next week. I ordered on the 9th.

I´m also interested in a suitable beam spyder III beam expander, but at first I need this laser!! NOW!!!

On my home built 445, I'm starting with 3x because it's more forgiving on input apperature etc. 20x???? Wow - that's a challenge.
My preliminary tests with an old expander look good but it's all hand held. I need to machine somehing stable.
