June 15th edit: I have removed all videos until I find a place that won't **** up my videos once they get uploaded.

Edit: I am posting all the pictures and videos of my laser stuff here so I don't create a new topic every time.

After seeing the agate sphere scopeguy20 was donating for the raffle, I knew I had to have one. I bought the big one you see in the bowl in the picture scopeguy20 posted since I didn't win the donated one. It is very nice and was well worth the price. Here is the video. I'll post some pictures once they are resized.

This is my first video I posted online with me talking. I am usually nervous talking if front of people. Even in videos with me talking but without seeing me.

I decided to make some changes partway through the making of the video which is why that single line of dots is at the beginning. I could have edited out but I thought it looked cool. It reminds me of a spiral galaxy photo taken directly from the side.

Wow, that thing is cooler than I imagined it. :D In the pictures scopeguy posted in the raffle thread , the camera was overpowered by the brightness of the laser.

I forgot to mention that those little black & white things are what I was using to make multiple dots. Using them one at a time creates one row. I used sticky tack to hold them on the end of the pointer. I turned one 90 degrees in order to get the cross effect.

Re: video of my girisol agate sphere

Thanks for the photo & video work Dr. Evil! It looks pretty cool. I have got to practice more with my cameras. The spheres are in very short supply, I may go buy all the remaining ones soon. That way, laserests would get all the rest! I hope we get some nice pics and or vids from the raffle winner of one of these too! -Glenn

Re: videos/pics of my agate sphere, optics & laser

I am posting all the pictures and videos of my laser stuff here so I don't create a new topic every time.

I've got some pictures of my HeNe now that it is up & running. It is a 1137P from JDS Uniphase that was built in March 1993. It is brighter that I thought it would be. I would guess it is putting out about 10mW. I'll post some night time beam shots later on.

The distance between the white lines is one inch. That was taken about 40 feet away from the laser.

I'll post another agate sphere shot later on since I shook the camera slightly in this shot.

Here is shot of the dot on a flat surface.

Here is shot of the laser and power supply.

Final picture for now. That is a 1/4" wrench to give you an idea how big the beam is about two inches away from the apeture.

Time for some more pictures. I'll post more later today or tomorrow. There will be a new video soon also.

Here's a pic of all my lasers. I labeled them in the picture. You might have the view the full size image to see the text clearly.

I wonder if my warranty is voided... I got bored and did this with my RPL. ::)

Re: videos/pics of my agate sphere, optics & laser

Here's another round of pictures. Some of these were taken when I took the other HeNe pictures.

HeNe and my leadlight before it was modded shining into the agate sphere.

Beamshot of the HeNe and Leadlight before the mod.

Beamshot going into the sphere.

Leadlight lighting up the sphere.

Beamshot of all my current lasers. Going from left to right: Z-bolt BTP-8E, Z-bolt BTG-6, Z-bolt BTE-4S, Optotronics Premium 4.99mW, 405nm modded Leadlight, another BTG-6, HeNe, RPL-225.

The dots. Left to right again: RPL-225, HeNe, Z-bolt BTG-6, 405nm modded leadlight, Optotronics Premium 4.99mW, Z-bolt BTE-4S, another BTG-6, Z-bolt BTP-8E.

Another beamshot of all my current lasers. Going from left to right: Z-bolt BTP-8E, Z-bolt BTG-6, Z-bolt BTE-4S, Optotronics Premium 4.99mW, 405nm modded Leadlight, another BTG-6, HeNe, RPL-225.

And for the finale. A star field.

I hope y'all enjoy the pictures. My eyes were hurting from all the smoke near the end. I use incense to bring out the beams.

Nice pictures! I use incense for my beam shots too. It works really well! My last beam capturing spree made my eyes kinda hurt too! :D Very nice pictures. Got to love the RPL!
