I was being ironic. Where is the smiley for that? We need a Black Adder smiley.

I think it was funny that this simple laser "prank" resulted in a backlash of posts that led to someone calculating if there was actually any danger involved, thus calculating how much "fun" was really had.

That's funny.

And come on, do you really think anyone who is a member of a laser forum would really call anyone else a nerd without being ironic???

There truly are some things that are beyond our control, I accept that. My point was that beyond the criticisms I illustrated above (which include your point about beaming people) what I did was not too unreasonable.

Are you serious Scott? Everything about this was within your control. You make it sound like you were forced up there at gun point. The Eiffel Tower was a rediculous place to do it at regardless if someone got lazed or not.

Diplomaticaly speaking, rediculous place to do it or not, to be or not to be, this is the question, what about if someone would have used this technology in a tunel in Paris,... :eg: Would it then stil be ridiculous ? Perhaps it is a matter of the third person perspective point of view,................ ... ............. ........ ... ...... . . . .

Actually the Awful Tower (however you spell it) was the PERFECT place to do this, since it already has a regularly scheduled light and sound show; I think the OP's idea was to "join in" with the show and make it look like the laser was part of it.

So, this stunt would NOT have worked someplace else.

I'm not arguing how safe/unsafe it was, just explaining why it wasn't a ridiculous place to do this.
