For a $70 cam, without a tripod or an additional lens the pic turned out quite well

A few hours later...

Same pic zoomed...

Neato! I remember the last lunar eclipse in my area... clouds covered it up -.-

Im so pissed off. I woke up at 4:30am just to watch it but there was a problem...

It was behind something like a house etc. or...THE FRIGGIN CLOUDS COVERED IT!! :p

Now im never going to get to see a full lunar eclipse...

^ The next is 2015 - wish ya good luck with stayin alive till then

I have a full lunar eclipse coming up this winter... unfortunately, it begins at like 7 in the morning.

Totally missed it here this time - eclipse started before moonrise, but should have still been visible when the moon just came over the horizon. Weather wasn't all that good, too many clouds.

I've seen a nice one here a few years ago with the typical red coloration - luckily lunar eclipses are pretty common. If you ever get the chance to see a total solar eclipse, definitely go for that, its simply amazing.

You were supposed to take a photo of the eclipse, not laser it

Nice fotos ;)

Overall I would say those are pretty good for a $70 camera and no other equipment.

Astronomy was a hobby of mine ... most of my photos were taken from a Bausch & Lomb Pro 4000 (a 4 inch Schmidt telescope). My best pics of a lunar eclipse were taken in Colorado back in the ... mid '80s.

Your pics are GOOD given a camera and no scope.

Rain/clouds. Yea. I was in Berlin when Halleys Comet last passed through. I was all set up to photograph from the top of my apartment building. But... German weather, go figure. It was overcast the whole time.

When I was still in High School (mid 70s), my entire photojournalism class was set up to meet at the teachers house at 3-4 AM or so to photograph Comet Kohoutek. It didn't "show up"(?) (it's albedo suddenly and unexpectedly decreased, and we couldn't find it).

Speculation *AT THE TIME* was that maybe it exploded or broke up.

Federico, you seem to have much more contanimates in the air than I have here in Vienna

Yes, you're right ... near my house there is a construction site :(
BTW your pics are very very nice... as always

I think the problem of the photo taken by Arayan is not the pollution, is the noise produced when taking a photo in low light, also taken with a phone, even worse.
