With a 5nm difference, I doubt you could see it.

I have built both the pl520 and the pl515 and I can tell the difference. The pl 515 has a slight blue hue. I like the color of the pl515 better. My opinion.

PL515 is mint. PL520 is forst green

I can't help but wonder if the difference isn't more than 5nm. That amount of difference is so small that if you can see a difference it must be very slight. If they have the same power and divergence, I wonder if you could tell the difference if they were kept from you knowing beforehand which was which.

I know I'd like to know whether there is more of a shift and, if not, can one really tell the difference.

When I compared them I could differently tell the difference. But when I get a chance I'll try and get some half way decent beam shots.

Will be interesting to see the results. That said, your camera will probably have a hard time distinguishing between the two, more so than your eyes do. May need to edit the colours slightly in post to more closely resemble what you see. Still waiting on my 520 here, otherwise I'd compare too. :crackup: :crackup:

I'm just using my iPhone camera maybe it's time to break down and buy a better one.??
I ordered a n450 and a n465 from DTR yesterday and two sxd drivers one at 4.5 and the other at 4.0 will be building in a couple of weeks. I'll post a build thread when I'm finished. Looking forward to see what they can do.

I've got a couple of Sinner hosts coming. I'm thinking of them or two more lux-pro hosts that I like. Got heat sinks already at the house for the lux-pro's. Depends on the heats sinks, which would be better for such high output diodes. Either way should be real nice addition to my collection.
