Here are a couple pix of my new baby... it is a kryton groove that has been powder coated candy red with smoke color added. but underneath the powder coat grinder marks have been added to the length of the barrel to simulate flames. pictures don't do this beauty justice!!!!

I think I just....

 Awesome host... well worth the wait in my opinion.

haha, glad you guys like it. it only cost $15 to get it done. the guy is around the corner from me... there are some problem areas. but only because i didn't specify areas to NOT be coated. but no worries, i can dremel those hidden areas.

michael.

FYI, you can powdercoat stuff yourself with tools from Harbor Freight etc. for as little as $70 for a spraygun/charger unit. (assuming you have a compressor) and powder is as little as $4 a pound.

Yours looks great!

It just inspired an idea actually. I wonder if it would be possible to roll mark or engrave diffraction grating type grooves for rainbow effects, or even holograms into polished aluminum, then protect it with clear powdercoat.

Imagine a host that was all hologram circuits and whatnot, like those cool Microsoft or Intel anti-counterfeiting stickers their stuff comes with.

I assume you mean the front aixiz lens thread? I can see that, that got anodized :undecided:

^^^ no the thread is good actually.... and the press fit part. but he coated the tail cap where i need contact to be... and he didn't coat in the rear of the tail cap.

michael.

Ahh.. Well as you said a dremel with a wire brush tool will fix that up for you.

Still love that host

Man. Haven't seen a Kryton in a long while.

That finish... its unreasonably unreasonable. Nasty job well done,

i had this host done this color so i could put one of the new 635's in it!!!

Thats a Great Choose. It will match perfectly with one of those beasts in there.

I love those Hosts. Especial when they are done like this.
