How is the battery life on this laser? And at what current are you running it at? I did my first 445 build in a smallish host and the battery life drained so quickly...I wondered if it was just my batteries or what. Also, how is the heat dissipation?

All in all a nice looking build though, +1

Aghhhh *facepalm* I hadn't realized he had a separate build thread for it. But when you answered with all the details I thought "hmmm....maybe more to this than I think...." so I click the link in RedDart's sig, and it brings me to the actual build thread.

MY BAD guys....my bad. lol, feel stupid right about now *smh*

Mmm a quick question; can I leave the batteries in it when I put it away for the night? (Obviously, it will be off)

The battery life seems great so far... Haven't charged the batteries once... But then again it all depends on the batteries mAh. Right now, I don't run it for over 40 seconds. I need to ask mohrenberg since he's the one who made the heatsink

if you want to light up your whole environment around the laser, keep the exposure the way it is. If you want to get the true color of the laser beam, I think you are pics are a bit overexposed. Try a higher F-stop or faster shutter speed, or both. Did you do any post production on the pics? They look very contrasty (is that a word). Still very nice pics!

For a tripod, I think many people on the forum use these (I have 8 of them) and they will mount onto a standard tripod and will hold pointers and big hand helds as well. I highly recommend them!

In regards to the camera's capture of the beams; You can try adjusting your camera's light balance settings. The basic idea is to bring in more blue. I would tighten down the aperture a bit, if you can.

For post production, you can use photoshop or pixlr or equivalent to adjust the levels and color balance, prior to publication.
